About me

My name is Maribel Alfonso, and I am a Clinical Psychologist and Psychotherapist originally from Mexico City. I earned my Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Universidad Iberoamericana in Mexico City and later completed a Master’s degree in Clinical Psychology and Psychotherapy at Medical School Berlin, Germany.

Psychotherapy

In psychotherapy, I support you in understanding what you are experiencing, developing resources to navigate life’s challenges, and building healthier relationships with yourself and others. I work with a range of concerns, including anxiety, stress and burnout, problematic substance use, and emotional well-being. I tailor the therapeutic process to your individual needs, circumstances, and goals.

Mindfulness and yoga

I integrate mindfulness and yoga to help cultivate a deeper connection between the mind and body, strengthen emotional awareness, and develop healthier ways of responding to stress and the demands of everyday life. I offer individual and group sessions, as well as tailored programs for organizations. The goal is not simply to relax, but to develop practical tools that can be integrated into everyday life to support emotional well-being, self-regulation, and greater balance.

Living Between Cultures

I support people living away from their country of origin, including expatriates, diplomats, migrants, and those returning after living abroad. I also work with international couples and families navigating the challenges of living between cultures. From an intercultural and gender-sensitive perspective, we explore experiences such as migration grief, identity and belonging, loneliness, relationships, cultural adjustment, and the challenges of building a meaningful life in a new environment or readjusting after returning home. My aim is to help you navigate these transitions, find a sense of balance, and create a sense of belonging that feels truly your own.
